Oh my god! It is incredibly awful what is going on in Haiti! I just can't believe. I know people that are at in Haiti at this right moment!
I am in shock. in total shock... Please everybody pray. not only for me, not only for people you know but for everyone. Everybody knows someone that has family in haiti!

Green Hotel? Why not!

Since I am in the hotel topic, why not continue with a hotel I visit every here and then: ALT Hotel.

First time I went there was at my birthday 2 years ago (ouf, Time goes by fast!) My man suprised me by taking me there.. what an amazing journey of a week-end! Far from all the noise and movement of montreal, but very close of it if you need it. We liked it so much we are always going back.. Have to admit this other hotel I spoke to you about ( Auberge du vieux port) is starting to take the place of this one,,, but still love both. ! hahaha Sorry Alt!

Back to business,, Alt hotel! Very modern, still simple and comfortable hotel. We like the environmently-friendly concept and the Fix price! 129$ a night, whether you choose 1 bed or 2!! Everything was carefully put in place to make sure it is ''Green'' : electricity system, toilet, bathrooms, lighting... everything!

We miss the room service !! There are plenty of restaurant around ( walking distance) you have from sushis, to fast-food, to italian fine cuisine, to steak house. Everything is there. Also, bars, clubs and store of all kinds are around.

When we went there at first, in the morning they were putting a bag to your door including homemade muffins with juice. LOVED IT ! now, you have to get your'breakfast' downstairs. Still good but was better before.

The part I love the most!! Guessssss! THE BED!
Oh! you can't believe how comfortable this bed is... makes me wonder why I don't have one at home yet! All white sheets, so many pillows ahhhhhhhhhhhh makes you *sleep tight*

In all, nice and simple place to stay. Price and concept is great!
If you are looking for romantic, this is maybe not the place you are looking for, but for everything else! It is worth the try, Trust ME!!!

Discovering 2010... But Before let's review 2009!

As 2009 just ended, it is time for me (and for everyone that had a rough 2009) to discover what's around us and see what 2010 has to offer.

First things first, I have to say I made a Huge discovery 'hotel-wise' in 2009. So since it is in the past why not start by there?!! It was a nice december week-end, I headed out to Auberge Du Vieux-port . ( www.aubergeduvieuxport.com ) Right on ! Old port view, on the 5th floor , big package everyting included, with my lovely man, what else to ask.... we'll see!

First we took this package including nothing more than : wine and cheese in the room at our arrival, 3-courses dinner at Bistro Narcisse (right downstairs), big american breakfast in the room the next morning... Wow just Wow begining to end. Service was A+, calling 15 minutes after our arrival in the room to make sure everything was just like we wanted. Food was super good, I had a filet mignon and my man had salmon, both our plates were beautiful, tasteful. What about Sweet teeth!! ouhhh Chocolate mousse was , for me, incredible!

Enough with food, we pay for the room too so what about it ?! Big nice king size bed, view on the old port, amazingly comfortable bed, bathroom with a jacuzzi and the decor was just so romantic, it was speechless. Brickwalls, wooden floors. very very nice. When we entered the room, relaxed classical music was playing. I have to admit I am not a big fan of that kinda music, altough it was Absolutly perfect for the place-time-event! Not to say that when I woke up at 5am ( yeah yeah don't ask!) I had this absoltuly ammmaazzinng viewww with the sunrise Wow!

In all, a place to go back, a place to remember, a place to discover, ( they also have a terrace on the roof in summer ) and a place where magic happenss.... :)

Ohhh Well. While 5 months ago I decided to create this blog. It is now in January 2010 that I am getting ready to write about nothing and everything. (about time!) Discovering life, discovering what's going on, discovering what's around town!
